Print update
This is a tentative update on the print release and while it only pertains very generally to the size I want to go for, I realise now that I’ve never actually posted a photo of the completed painting that we’re using for the edition.
Of the three sizes Black Rat sent me (digital reproductions) I favour the largest.
It matches the size of the canvas, which is 36″ x 36″, so it should be a big ‘un (supposing Mike at Black Rat is still game to go large).
Here it is, in Thought’s meeting room, pinned down by coffee mugs and keyboards:
By the by, anyone thinking “Jesus fuck, that’s a whole ass-load of frame I’ll have to summon up, can’t they just crop all that negative space off? It’s doing nothing”
We tried that and it doesn’t work at all.

It’s called This Will Hurt Tomorrow and if “Can You Smell Burning?” is anything to go by, it will be ten colours or more. With a hand finished edition too.
Summer Party at Black Rat Projects
“Black Rat Projects would like to invite you to our Summer Party. On Saturday July 16th during the day we are teaming up with Cargo club next door whose expert chefs will cook up a bbq for BRP’s guests. This is a day for all the family: Matt Small will be doing one of his legendary workshops for the younger audience (if there’s space grown-ups can join in too…). To book for your kids email becca@blackrat.com with an optional £10 donation to ZAMCOG charity.
The day will mark the release of Lucas Price’s new print “Telepathic Heights”. The new edition (each one is uniquely hand coloured) will be hung among works by BRP friends, new and old, including: Swoon, Matt Small, Giles Walker, Candice Tripp, ROA and Brian Dettmer and Best Ever.
The show will be a review of this year’s projects, and an ode to the artists who have made the space what it is, as well as a look forward to future projects as we welcome ROA, Candice Tripp and Brian Dettmer into the fold.
There will be beer, bbq food, live painting from Best Ever and much more!”
Morrell House
Some of my work was recently and briefly on show at Morrell House, organised by the kind folk at Black Rat. It’s a place of rubber ducks, feathered lamps, oversized sweets and blue drank that gets you drunkalunk. It’s perfectly twisted. I loved it.
Maybe one day we can all go back there together.

Upcoming Group Show

Printmaking Today at Black Rat Projects
So! I found Black Rat Projects!
Lyn and Co and Ty and Co and Vin and Omi (of Vin and Omi) and Stuey (of Art Land) and my mom and Teresa were all there, which was lovely. Thanks so much for coming, chaps. I love you fuckers.
Ideal Brown was missed. It just wasn’t the same without the stick man with his big round head. So for him (and anybody else who may be interested) this is sort of what Printmaking Today looked like (best show lighting I’ve seen, just by the way)
Upcoming Screen Print
Today I received two samples for selecting the paper size of my upcoming screen print with Black Rat Projects.
The edition size is undecided as is the colour count but as soon as I know, I’ll make a big old noise about it. With those details I’ll throw in some particulars about when the print will be ready too.
We’re using the image from a painting that I’ll be sending to Copro Gallery in March.
