Black tourmaline beaded necklace
Intent on making a gift for a friend with an October birthday, I asked her what colour gemstones she favours. "BLACK" came back the immediate answer, and what followed was a discussion on how we both feel that opals are wasted on us October women, who like harder-wearing stones that can keep up with our lifestyle.
I remembered that Tourmaline, a birthstone for October, ALSO comes in black (among its vast array of natural hues)
I have the same size beads, also in black, in a chalcedony and let me tell you: the difference is considerable. These are just so shiny.
My most-worn necklace is the hand-knotted garnet one that I strung as a testing bed/sample for my first foray into gemstone necklaces. I wear it with a charm connector and whatever new or old charm I am clinging to that month.
Over time, all of the garnet and lapis necklaces sold, and I wanted to revisit them in new colourways, with new stones.
I immediately decided to add the black tourmaline to my stock.
Finished with a sterling silver clasp.
Seen here with a snake charm that I never got around to replicating or putting in the store.

To avoid scratches, store your jewellery separately in their boxes.
All gold vermeil jewellery is 925 Sterling Silver plated in 3 microns of gold.
Over time, gold plating will wear depending on how much it is worn. Avoid exposing your gold vermeil jewellery to perfumes and cosmetics, as well as wearing your jewellery in the shower or bed. Friction from bed sheets and cleaning can wear down the plate.
