“... an ancient superstition still current in Cornwall: among all the quaint cottages there, you'll keep coming across round houses, built like that to keep the Devil away. The idea is that the Devil gets dizzy running round and round trying to find a corner to hide in.”

I painted the Devil in a state of disorientation that comes with the Round House, albeit as a separate painting.
