Egg with Legs pearl necklace

 

This necklace has been a long time coming. The idea came about just as soon as I started painting eggs with legs during the first lockdown of 2020.

I struggled to find the right kind of pearl for the job- I wanted a lumpen, imperfect gem but I still wanted it to retain an orb, egg-like shape with the occasional pasture of smooth curvature.

It took 10 months for me to find the right one and a further 2 or so years to finally set the legs in a way that pleased me. 

This piece is completely one-of-a-kind.

The legs were carved in wax and cast in 925 sterling silver. Each necklace pearl egg is completely unique.

Care

Candice Tripp's jewellery is made by hand in 925 Sterling Silver in the UK.

To avoid scratches, store your jewellery separately in its box.

All gold-plated jewellery is 925 Sterling Silver plated in 3 microns of gold.
Over time, gold plating will wear depending on how much it is worn. Avoid exposing your gold-plated jewellery to perfumes and cosmetics, as well as wearing your jewellery in the shower or in bed. Friction from bed sheets and cleaning can wear down the plate.

For a small cost, you can return your item to Candice to have it re-plated.
