It's unusual for me not to have a date or origin for a toy, but I'm happy to be without both if it means I have this penguin. Though I believe it to be from the 1970's. I've found that in the realm of avid antique toy collectors, penguins and pigs don't come easy. I don't know why, but I'm always beaten to the punch when it comes to bidding, so I was thrilled to nab this guy.
I brought him into 2025 by totally reconstructing his face. That's fine now, right? Not because his old natural one was particularly bad, it was just the beak, the eye, the general gormlessness of it. If you can...why not?
